Day 400: Strength Up…But Wrist Still Down

Mission 5: Week 4 Results.

G’day,

Today is one of those days where I still have to pinch myself…400 days down and I’m still going! When I think back to early 2021 I remember feeling down on myself because I could barely string four days together. 400 or even 40 would have been a pipe dream!

However, when you do something like this for that length of time things (good and bad) are bound to happen. At the moment it is trying to navigate my wrist issue in a way that allows me to train and work, but also heal. Unfortunately, my wrist is not getting better (and could actually be getting worse). I’ll know more when I visit my doc again this weekend.

It is a strange type of injury. The slightest irregular movements can cause pain but I am also able to “lock in” on the barbell without any real problem. In other words, I can squat my own body weight but I can’t open a jar of Vegemite! I have tried to heal it on my own but I may need to put it in plaster to prevent further damage. I’ll find out more this week.
