I’m now only one day out from Day 365, and by extension one full year of daily accountability! With the finish line in sight on a (very) long-held goal I should be in a positive frame of mind and ready for a mini-celebration!
However, I am not really felling’ it. If anything I am on a little downer at the moment. This is not due to any underlying mental or emotional issue though, it is simply a consequence of the aches and pains throughout my body.
It all started about 17 days ago with the flu. This shut my training down for the best part of two weeks. I then incurred a wrist/forearm injury which has been nagging me throughout the last week. Unfortunately, due to the nature of my work it hasn’t really had a chance to heal.
Compounded on top of these two things is a case of severe DOMS from my training “comeback” training session last Thursday. I can quite honestly say I have never felt it this bad in all my years training. In hindsight I may have gone too hard during my first session back at the gym.
And to top it all off, in the last few days my forehead and cheeks have been inflamed (like red hot) from an allergy of some description. It seems to have been triggered by my use of this fancy new “organic” shampoo and conditioner. Coincidentally, it has also given me a raging headache!
And lastly, I had the biggest workday ever today, 12 hours straight and 25k steps! What this all means is that today, Monday the 9th of August 2022, is probably the worst I have felt in a couple of years! It is like a “perfect storm” of aches and pains!
I’m not sure why it had to arrive on the day before my “big day” but it is here and the best I can do is get an early night and hope that I am better tomorrow.
Important note: If I don’t improve by tomorrow I will postpone my Mission 4 Judgement Day Challenges to later in the week, most likely Day 370. I also include the Golf Challenge in this postponement, but that will be contingent on getting my wrist/forearm right to play.
