G’day,
After yesterday’s early morning surf at Currumbin in tough conditions today I changed beaches and went down to Snapper Rocks. This is where all the Aussie “big guns” (Mick, Parko and Steph) hang out so it can be a little intimidating for a newbie like myself!
My strategy is simple, stick to the shore breaks and catch the whitewater waves! If you get your timing and technique right you can actually ride these all the way to shore…then re-enter and do it all over again!
As you can see from my GPS data this is exactly what I did! I caught a lot of waves and rode a few all the way in. In some ways it is similar to the gym, that is to improve, it is “all about the reps.”
I feel like I am getting close to being able to catch (and ride) each wave I go for. Maybe by summer I’ll be one of those walking up and down his longboard while riding a wave!
Until tomorrow,
AJ
