Day 257: A Different Kind Of Triathlon – Surf, Bike and Run!

G’day,

I tried something a little different today. Instead of my usual “indoor tri” with pool, bike and treadmill I packed up my van and did it all outside. And to mix it up a little bit more I did a surf instead of a swim!

Actually, the surf portion of my tri today will be similar to the conditions I’ll face in two weeks for the Byron Bay Triathlon. The reason being that the swim leg of this upcoming tri will be held in the actual surf!

I also lucked out with a good parking spot today as the area contained the waves, the bike path, the pavement and a shower! What’s more, it’s also a beautiful part of the Coast, around Kirra and Snapper Rocks (around 20 kms from Surfers Paradise).

So, all in all, a great day out. I may even do it again tomorrow!
