G’day,
When I don’t want it to drop…it drops huge! Like 1.8 kg (3.9 lbs) in two days. Why couldn’t have been this easy at the beginning of M1?!
The weird thing is my calories have been what I thought was maintenance the last two days (actually the last two weeks). There have been weight fluctuations during this time while I try to find the “sweet spot” for meal timing and calories.
But today’s result genuinely shocked me. I’m not sure I can put my finger on one particular reason. I can speculate: maybe it’s the extra workload at my job (18k steps today); maybe the triathlon training yesterday kicked it down; maybe my metabolism is firing even harder; maybe I’m not eating enough, maybe its just water weight or maybe it is a combination of all of the above?!
Either way, I’m not going to complain or stress about it too much. After a decade of trying to move my number below 90kg I guess it is a nice problem to have. I’ll monitor it over the next couple of days and make the necessary adjustments.

P.S. Come to think of it…maybe I shouldn’t have scheduled a triathlon during a “maintenance phase”!
